Panic attacks
How many times a day do you hear or say to yourself, “Do not panic!”
Panic is actually an intense feeling of fear and anxiety in response to real life threat or acute stress. However, if you are experiencing an explosion of fear threatening to grow into hysteria in some cases, when there are no real reasons for it, it is time to ask yourself what is wrong with your reactions.
Your body responds to panic attacks very turbulently, you heart rate is accelerated and you are short of breath. The person most often has the feeling that he will die or go crazy.

If panic attacks occur or are repeated for no reason in the absence of danger or extreme stress, if the fear of experiencing another attack is so severe that you change your behavior by avoiding certain places and people, you may be suffering from panic disorder.
A panic attack is exhausting and paralyzing for a person who experiences it. Mostly it occurs suddenly, without any earlier symptoms. They do not only develop when a person is stressed, but can also happen when a person is completely relaxed or sleeping.
Panic attacks and panic disorders must be treated. The method of treatment depends on the severity of the symptoms and the individual. The very common cause of panic attacks is the abuse of drugs or alcohol, as well as withdrawal crisis. Depending on these, VIP Dr Vorobjev Clinic approaches each patient individually and develops a special program.
Panic attack treatment therapies
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is based on the idea that it is our thoughts and feelings that cause our behavior, not external situations and events. Changing the way we think will make us feel better, even if the situation does not change. CBT is focused on determining the mental matrix and behaviors responsible for panic attacks and gives very good results.
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a form of cognitive therapy which emphasizes individual psychotherapy. It helps people learn new skills and strategies that they can use to face and cope with panic attacks, learn how to deal with life problems without stress and impulsive behavior.
Exposure therapy shows good results. It involves patient exposure in a safe and controlled environment. The guiding idea is to repeat situations that can trigger a panic attack, triggers that cause them to gradually lose strength and lead to overcoming the problem.
Medications can be used as a means of controlling or alleviating the symptoms that are manifested in panic disorders. However, medications themselves are not sufficient and must be combined with other therapies. All in all, the best results of medication treatment involve a combination of other therapies, lifestyle changes, learning breathing techniques, yoga and regular exercise.
